Hyderabad: A career in civil services offers fulfillment through problem-solving, a dynamic work environment that encourages continuous learning and job security, says Dr. G. Vivekananda, Assistant Director from Ministry of Defense.
Delivering keynote address titled ‘Civil Services–the G.O.A.T Career for a Fresh Graduate’ on Monday during an insightful seminar on civil services, organised by Telangana Today and Namasthe Telangana in collaboration with Reflections IAS Academy at CMR College of Engineering and Technology, Dr Vivekananda highlighted the broader impact of civil services as a career choice that transcends personal ambition and focuses on societal transformation.
In his talk, Dr. Vivekananda, who is also Chief Mentor at Reflections IAS Academy, outlined four motivating factors for pursuing civil services, emphasizing the role of civil servants as ‘game changers’ who address social challenges like poverty, education, and public health.
Speaking to a lively audience, Dr. Vivekananda urged students to identify challenges in every sphere of life and think of offering solutions from their perspective. The UPSC-2014 topper in his closing remarks inspired students to consider how their career choices could contribute to the nation’s progress.
Sriramana Muppalla, Director of Reflections IAS Academy, provided insights into the UPSC examination process and described it as a journey of profound knowledge expansion.
Major Dr. Narayana, Principal, CMRCET, advised students to look beyond placements and salary packages, encouraging them to pursue UPSC ranks to serve society. He thanked the Telangana Publications management for organizing these awareness sessions in colleges across Telangana.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students engaged with Dr. Vivekananda to clarify their doubts, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr. Ravi Kumar, Dean of Student Affairs. The seminar left attendees feeling motivated and empowered to explore paths that would enable them to make a meaningful impact.
