Hyderabad: Reliance Jio on Tuesday announced the launch of JioPC, a cloud-powered virtual desktop platform that transforms any screen into a personal computer using a Jio Set-Top Box (STB) with JioFiber or JioAirFiber connection.
The service, targeted at students, professionals, households, and small businesses, offers a pay-as-you-go pricing model, starting at just Rs 400 per month. The base subscription provides 8 GB RAM, 100 GB cloud storage, and access to AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools.
“JioPC is tailor-made for India’s evolving digital needs,” said the company in a statement, adding that the cloud-first approach eliminates the need for maintenance or hardware upgrades. “Data remains secure even if the Set-Top Box is damaged or replaced,” it said.
Plans and Features
JioPC offers five subscription tiers, all of which provide unlimited usage and include:
- Rs 599 + GST (1 month)
- Rs 999 + GST (2 months)
- Rs 1,499 + GST (3 months + 1 free month)
- Rs 2,499 + GST (6 months + 2 free months)
- Rs 4,599 + GST (12 months + 3 free months)
All plans come bundled with Jio Workspace, Microsoft Office via browser, and 512 GB cloud storage. New users can avail a one-month free trial.
Partnerships and Software Access
The company has partnered with Adobe, offering complimentary access to Adobe Express, enabling users to create, design, and edit content seamlessly. The platform also includes several popular AI tools, enhancing functionality for creative professionals and students alike.
No Lock-In, No CPU Needed
JioPC claims to offer the experience of a Rs 50,000 PC without any upfront cost, making it India’s first large-scale virtual desktop service for homes and small businesses. Since the system runs entirely on the cloud, there is no need for a CPU — users only need to connect a keyboard, mouse, and monitor to the Jio Set-Top Box.
The platform offers instant boot-up, automatic updates, and network-level security to protect against malware and cyber threats.

- Turn on your Jio Set-Top Box and go to the Apps section
- Launch the JioPC app and click ‘Get Started’
- Connect your keyboard and mouse
