Hyderabad: Renova NIGL Hospitals, Banjara Hills, has launched a new blood bank facility on its premises on Tuesday. The blood bank will provide whole blood, packed cells, saline washed RBC, fresh frozen plasma, cryoprecipitate, platelets rich plasma, platelet concentration, single donor platelets, single donor plasma etc, according to a press release.

The new blood bank, which will be available to patients round-the-clock, was inaugurated by senior liver transplant surgeon and Director, Renova NIGL Hospitals, Dr Raghavendra Rao.

The blood bank will also provide services to those requiring blood-related products, apart from providing services to hospital in-patients. As there is a growing demand for blood products, he appealed to people to come forward and donate the blood in order to save the lives of patients who are in critical situations. Senior doctors from the hospital were present at the inauguration.
