Konda Vishweshwar Reddy who quit Congress early this year said he had not taken any decision yet
Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy met former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Tuesday triggering speculations that the latter, who quit Congress early this year, was set to rejoin the party.
However, when media persons asked him about his plans, Vishweshwar Reddy said he had not taken any decision yet.
The former MP said while he was in the Congress party, he had recommended Revanth Reddy’s name for the TPCC chief’s post. Expressing happiness over Revanth Reddy becoming the TPCC president, he said he personally wanted to meet the new TPCC president and greet him.
Vishweshwar Reddy said he would participate in the Congress party’s programme to be conducted in support of unemployed youth in the State. “I will extend my support to whoever fights for Telangana’s cause. I will be happy if Congress does it,” he said.
Revanth Reddy said: “Though Vishweshwar Reddy resigned from Congress,he has not resigned from the party’s ideology. He can join Congress whenever he wishes.”
Later in the evening, Vishweshwar Reddy tweeted: “Met Revanth Reddy and congratulated him on becoming TPCC president. We discussed various Telangana issues – unemployment, irrigation, Krishna waters, agriculture, MSP and saving democracy in Telangana. This is the first time to meet him after leaving Congress (sic).”
Meanwhile, Nizamabad BJP MP D Arvind’s brother, former Nizamabad Mayor D Sanjay, BJP Mahabubnagar president Erra Shekhar and TDP leader Gandra Satyanarayana have announced their decision to join Congress. The three met Revanth Reddy at his residence here on Tuesday. They said a public meeting will be organised soon where they will join the Congress.
