Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his misrule, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday accused him of prioritising real estate interests of his own family over the State’s interests.
Addressing a mammoth gathering of farmers as part of the Rythu Maha Dharna at Amangal, he said Revanth Reddy’s family had acquired nearly 1000 acres of land in Kalwakurthy post the elections to hike up property rates. He said the Chief Minister was more focused on raising land prices than addressing critical State issues. He expressed concern over the dire state of governance and said Revanth Reddy had not delivered justice to anyone even in his own constituency. He urged the people of Telangana to hold Revanth Reddy accountable for his failures and deception.
Calling for an end to what he termed the “dishonest and shameless” rule of Revanth Reddy, Rama Rao emphasized the need for steps to ensure welfare in Telangana. Stating that Revanth Reddy had deceived almost every community with false promises, he pointed out the 42 percent reservations to backward classes which was yet to be implemented, the monthly allowance of Rs 2,500 to women, as well as scooters and gold for marriage, and called on the people of Telangana to hold Congress leaders accountable during the local body election campaigns.
Urging them to start the movement from Kalwakurthy, emphasizing the need to expose Revanth Reddy’s deceit, the BRS working president highlighted the achievements of the K Chandrashekhar Rao regime, stating that he was the first Chief Minister in India’s history to provide Rs 5 lakh insurance to the families of deceased farmers. Chandrashekhar Rao’s administration also introduced the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes, offering Rs 1 lakh for the weddings of daughters, and increased pensions from Rs 200 to Rs 2000, benefiting numerous families across Telangana.
In contrast, Revanth Reddy has continuously misled the people of Telangana, he said, adding that Revanth Reddy had no shame nor integrity, enduring public criticism without any remorse.
