Revolt against Congress has begun in Telangana, says KT Rama Rao

BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing the Congress government of failing to honour promises made to farmers and dodging Rythu Bandhu support. He criticised the Chief Minister for focusing on personal attacks and controversies instead of governance.

Mahabubabad: Launching a broadside against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for failing to fulfill the promises made to farmers, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said that the Congress government had dodged Rythu Bandhu investment support twice in just two years.

In contrast, the BRS government during its tenure had directly credited Rs 72,000 crores into the farmers’ bank accounts in 11 installments without any delays, he stressed.

He was addressing the party workers at ‘Atmeeya Sammelanam’ of newly elected BRS Sarpanches and Upa-Sarpanches here on Saturday.

“A State-wide revolt has begun against the Congress government over broken promises and administrative failures. People are ready to teach the current regime a fitting lesson,” Rama Rao stressed.

Labeling the Chief Minister as a leader who deprived farmers of their rightful dues, he charged that the Congress leadership won through deception.

“Revanth Reddy misled the public by taking oaths in the names of Gods and senior Congress leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, only to betray every section of society after coming to power,” he said.

On the verbal attacks against BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao, the BRS working president stated he could retaliate in Telugu, Hindi and English but refrained out of respect for the Chief Minister’s Office.

Instead of focusing on administration and delivering good governance, Revanth Reddy was obsessed with personal abuse, commissions and cases like Formula-E and phone tapping, he criticised.

The BRS working president hailed the victory of BRS-backed candidates in the recent Gram Panchayat elections. He lauded the grassroots level workers, who stood firm with the party when senior leaders like Kadiyam Srihari defected to power.

“A Legal Cell and training programmes will be established in every district to protect BRS Sarpanches from the Congress party’s harassment,” Rama Rao assured.

He reminded Sarpanches that 75 percent of funds from the Union Government are credited directly into the Panchayats and that they were not the “personal property” of the State government.

Stressing that Panchayat election results were a league match victory, Rama Rao urged the party cadre to win the upcoming “semifinals” (Municipal, ZPTC, MPTC elections) to pave the way for “finals” (Assembly elections).
