Riya Goyal wins gold at ISSO Taekwondo National Games

Glendale Academy’s Riya Vinit Goyal won gold in the girls’ 10–11 years Kyorugi category at the ISSO Taekwondo National Games in Mumbai. The Hyderabad youngster remained unbeaten, winning her quarterfinal, semifinal and final bouts by straight 2–0 margins

Hyderabad: Riya Vinit Goyal of Glendale Academy won gold in the Kyorugi girls’ 10–11 years age group (20.1–22kg category) at the ISSO Taekwondo National Games in Mumbai.

The category featured seven competitors representing various international schools.

Entering the tournament at the quarterfinal stage, Riya competed in three consecutive bouts on her way to the title.

The Hyderabadi maintained an undefeated run throughout the competition, winning all three bouts — quarterfinal, semifinal and final — by straight 2–0 margins.

Riya’s consistent scoring and defensive play secured her the top podium finish, earning Glendale International School a gold medal at the national event.
