Robotic cancer surgery workshop at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital

Since 2017, the hospital has conducted more than 800 robotic surgeries

Hyderabad: Cancer surgeons from across the country participated in a two-day workshop on using advanced robotic surgical systems in Uro Oncology procedures at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute.

The workshop on uro-oncology robotic surgeries, which was organised by Dr TS Rao, Head, Surgical Oncology Department of BIACH&RI, Dr Rakesh Sharma, Head, Uro Oncology, was aimed at sharing finer techniques in conducting robotic procedures.

Chairman, BIACH&RI, Nandamuri Balakrishna, who inaugurated the workshop, said that since 2017, the hospital has conducted more than 800 robotic surgeries. Last month in January, we also launched 4th generation Robotic Surgical System that will provide advanced Robotic Based Surgeries at affordable cost, he said.

Dr Raghava Rao Polavarapu, member Trust Board, BIACH&RI; Dr K Krishniah, CEO, Dr Kalpana Raghunath, Associate Director, Academics, BIACH&RI and other senior doctors were present.
