Rs. 12,565 cr proposed for Tribal Welfare in Telangana budget

Hyderabad: For the welfare of scheduled tribe community, an allocation of Rs. 12,565 crore was proposed in the State budget 2022-23. Presenting the budget in the State Assembly here, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the State government has allocated costly lands in Hyderabad to construct Adivasi and Banjara Bhavans.
These buildings were taken up with an outlay of Rs.72 crore and are ready for inauguration. Across the State, 32 bhavans for adivasis girijans were also under construction. Stating that the tribal and adivasi festivals were now organized officially, the adivasis hero Komaram Bheem’s jayanti and the God of Banjaras, Seva Lal Maharaj’s jayanti were now celebrated as State festivals.
Sammakka Sarakka jatara was also celebrated as a State Jatara. During the current year, an allocation of Rs.75 crore was made for Sammakka Sarakka Jatara. Nagoba Jatara, Baurampur Jatara and Gangubai Jatara are also being celebrated by the government every year.
