RTA finds over 50 staff involved in illegal sale of fancy numbers, insurance certificates
Reportedly found atleast over 50 staff, allegedly involved in illegal bidding and allotment of fancy numbers and distribution of fraudulent insurance certificates.
Hyderabad: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) department, which has recently faced allegations of significant fraud and irregularities involving (Database Administrators) DBA operators, has reportedly found atleast over 50 staff, allegedly involved in illegal bidding and allotment of fancy numbers and distribution of fraudulent insurance certificates.
Such illegal transactions were made by the DBAs without the knowledge of their superior authorities, according to sources.
Recently, several complaints against DBAs were made to the higher authorities across the State.
According to sources, senior RTA officials are conducting a detailed investigation.
There have been complaints from several quarters involving DBA operators including their involvement in distribution of fraudulent insurance certificates.
According to complaints, RTA officials are reportedly allowing vehicle registrations, fitness tests, and other procedures to proceed without valid insurance, facilitating a scam where fake insurance documents are issued to save costs for vehicle owners.
These fraudulent practices compromise road safety, as many vehicles, including auto-rickshaws and buses, lack legitimate insurance coverage.
