Rythu Bandhu amount to be deposited into farmers’ bank accounts from June 15
The State government will deposit the Rythu Bandhu amount of Rs 5,000 per acre in the bank accounts of farmers from June 15 to 25, for this Vaankalaam (Kharif) crop season.
Hyderabad: All eligible farmers who posess pattadar passbooks as on June 10 and got their details uploaded into the Dharani portal, will receive the financial assistance under Rythu Bandhu scheme for the Vaanakalam (Kharif) crop season. Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy made the announcement allaying the fears of farmers having accounts in the banks which were merged into other banks.
The State government will deposit the Rythu Bandhu amount of Rs 5,000 per acre in the bank accounts of farmers from June 15 to 25, for this Vaankalaam (Kharif) crop season. Farmers having bank accounts in the banks which were merged into other banks and failed to update the new IFSC codes, are advised to meet the local AEO (Agriculture Extension Officer) and submit details of their bank account, pattadar passbook as well as Aadhaar card to the latter. Accordingly, the government is planning to update them by taking up with the banks concerned and deposit the amount.
The State government has been depositing Rythu Bandhu amount directly into the bank accounts of farmers since December 2018. The IFSC codes of the branches of certain PSU (public sector undertaking) banks which were merged into other banks recently, have changed since April 2020. As the banks allowed using old IFSC codes until March 31 this year even after their merger, there had been no disruption in distribution of the the Rythu Bandhu amount until now. Though the agriculture officials asked farmers to update their banks details with new IFSC codes before June 10, there has been poor response especially in remote areas.
