Nalgonda: Devarakonda MLA Ravindra Kumar Naik on Saturday said that crop investment support scheme Rythu Bandhu saved the farmers from the burden of debts and helped them in leading a dignified life in the society.
Speaking at Rythu Bandhu celebrations held at Dindi in Nalgonda, Ravindra Kumar Naik said that the farmers have been getting Rs 10,000 per acre every year as investment support under the scheme. Rs 50,000 crore have been deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers in eight phases so far in the State. Unlike in the past, after launching of Rythu Bandhu by the State government, the farmers were not making rounds to the banks and not approaching private money lenders to get loans for investment in cultivation.
He reminded that Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes have stood as a model to the country in the welfare of farmers. The multi-pronged strategy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has resulted in bringing past glory to agriculture and made our State top in paddy production in the country. Stating that the State government was working with a target to provide irrigation facility to every acre of cultivable land in the State, he reminded that construction of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS), a multi-purpose irrigation project across the Godavari River, was completed by the State government in a short span of time and created world record.
The KLIS project helped in achieving the goal of providing irrigation facility to one crore acres of agricultural land in the State, he added. The State government was giving top priority to irrigation projects and trying to complete their construction with in a stipulated time, he added.
