Sailing Week: Ajay cruises to victories in Laser Radial
In a fight between Sikhansu Singh and T Ajay in the men’s Laser Radial, the former won the Race 7. However, Ajay came back strongly in the next two races.
Hyderabad: The third day proved to be a tough day for the sailors of the Hyderabad Week as the wind speed was around 15 to 17 knots and gusting up to 20 knots at Hussain Sagar Lake.
In a fight between Sikhansu Singh and T Ajay in the men’s Laser Radial, the former won the Race 7. However, Ajay came back strongly in the next two races. Taming the winds to a nicety, Ajay cruised home in the eighth and ninth races.
There was a lively contests in Laser 4.7 Class on the day. C Karthik was the winner in Race No. 7. Ritika Dangi got the gun in Race 8 and Sabavath Vijay Kumar romped home in Race 9.
Saamya Punjkaran took the first race of the day when she sailed away to victory in Race No.7 but overall lead Veera V Vaishnavi bounced back to win the next two races in the women’s Laser Radial event. Vaishnavi has won seven guns out of nine races.
