Sailing Week: Mohit Saini corners glory in Laser Standard class
On the last day of the competition, Saini romped home in tenth, 11th and 12th race to emerge champion.
Hyderabad: Mohit Saini continued to dominate in the Laser Standard class on the fourth day as he sailed away to his seventh victory in the Hyderabad Sailing Week on Hussain Sagar Lake on Wednesday. On the last day of the competition, Saini romped home in tenth, 11th and 12th race to emerge champion.
On yet another day of strong winds of 12-15 knots and was gusting up to 18 knots, there was tremendous fight between Himanshu Yadav, A Srinu and Rammilan Yadav in the three races held on Wednesday. Himanshu emerged victory in the 10th while Srinu coasted home in Race No.11 but Rammilan took the honours in the 12th.
Sikanshu Singh, with three wins, is set to win the title in Laser 4.7 Class. But he faced tough challenge from Alok R Pandey and N Vamshi who won the 11th and 12th races respectively. Sikanshu had won the 10th race.
In women’s Laser Radial, Veera V Vaishnavi emerged at the top after she won the 11th race while Saamya Punjkaran was winner in tenth while R Ashwini won the 12th race.
