Hyderabad: Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, has announced the Top 20 finalist teams for the fourth edition of its nationwide innovation competition, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025.
This year’s finalists include young innovators from rural India and Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across 12 states, reflecting the programme’s mission to empower changemakers who use technology to solve real-world community challenges. Among the finalists are a 14-year-old student, an all-girls team, and two teams from the North East, showcasing the diversity and inclusivity of the initiative.
Their ideas range from AI-powered tools that enable visually impaired individuals to play chess independently, to drone-mounted imaging sensors for pollution mapping, and AI-driven border surveillance systems for national security.
The teams presented projects under four themes — AI for a Safer, Smarter and Inclusive Bharat; Future of Health, Hygiene and Well-being; Environmental Sustainability via Technology; and Social Change through Sport and Tech for Education and Better Futures.
“Samsung Solve for Tomorrow grows bigger, bolder, and more creative every year, reaching deeper into rural and remote India while continuing Samsung’s vision of democratizing innovation for a smarter Bharat,” said SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia.
“The Top 20 finalists show how technology, when applied with empathy and context, can transform lives in healthcare, sustainability, and accessibility,” he added.
The 2025 edition saw entries from across the country, including Cachar (Assam), Banaganapalli (Andhra Pradesh), Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh), Mahabubnagar (Telangana), and Sundargarh (Odisha).
The finalists were chosen after an intensive Prototyping Programme and National Pitch Event held at IIT Delhi, conducted in collaboration with Samsung Solve for Tomorrow alumni. Forty semi-finalist teams attended an experiential bootcamp at IIT Delhi’s state-of-the-art labs, where a jury of experts from Samsung R&D and Southwest Asia selected the Top 20 finalists.
These teams will now undergo one-on-one mentorship from Samsung experts, IIT Delhi professors, and startup founders, helping them refine their prototypes and scale their ideas.
Under the AI for a Safer, Smarter, and Inclusive Bharat theme, teams such as Chakravyuh, Error 404, Passionate Problem Solver, Percevia, and Sicario are developing solutions like real-time safety apps, AI-IoT surveillance systems, and wearable navigation aids for the visually impaired.
In the Future of Health, Hygiene, and Well-being category, teams including Alchemist, BRHM, HEAR BRIGHT, PARASPEAK, and Pink Brigadiers are working on innovations like non-invasive silicosis detection tools, affordable bionic hands, AI-based speech recognition devices, and predictive breast health apps.
Under Environmental Sustainability via Technology, teams such as Prithvi Rakshak, Drop of Hope, Renewable Desalination, SmalBlu, and VOXMAPS are presenting solutions ranging from solar-powered water extraction to AI-driven pollution mapping.
In the theme Social Change through Sport and Tech, teams like Next Play AI, Shatranj Swaya Crew, SPORTS4AUTISM, STATUSCODE200, and Unity are developing gamified therapy platforms for autistic children, AI-led sports scouting apps, and inclusive gaming solutions.
Each of the Top 20 teams will receive ₹1 lakh, while every participant — 37 in total — will receive the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphone.
