Suryapet: The district Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy on Saturday instructed the officials not to show any negligence on sanctioning loans to dairy farmers in the district, which would impact the implementation of mini-dairy farmers pilot project.
Speaking at an awareness programme organised for dairy farmers under Mini-Dairy Pilot Project taken up by SC Corporation at Suryapet, the district Collector said that units of mini dairy farmers would be grounded started from November 15.
He said that setting up of cattle sheds were completed at the villages under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at the earliest. Mandal level teams should get ready for entrusted task of purchase dairy cattle for the programme.
He instructed the officials to take up initiative for sanction of loans by the banks to the applicants for purchase of dairy cattle. He pointed out that 589 candidates were applied at different banks for loans for purchase of dairy cattle. The loans should be extended to the eligible applicants by November 11.
He has expressed his displeasure on the bankers for not issuing loan to single applicant of dairy farmer for the purpose. He has asked the bankers to cooperate with the district administration in making success the pilot project.
Stating that transparency would be ensured in purchase of dairy cattle, he suggested that every purchased cattle must be insured. He informed that fodder sufficient for three months would extended for dairy cattle, which would be distributed to the beneficiaries.
