Hyderabad: Sankara Eye Hospital, Hyderabad, under the guidance of Dr Sai Shruthi, Chief Microbiologist, has organised the ‘CSSD 360 – Standardise, Sterilise, Safeguard’ workshop, underscoring the critical role of the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) in ensuring patient safety and preventing healthcare-associated infections.
The workshop brought together a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including microbiologists, infection control specialists, quality managers, hospital administrators, and CSSD technicians. The programme focused on evidence-based sterile processing practices, improving adherence to national and international standards, and enhancing overall patient safety outcomes.
Dr Sriram Simakurthy, Chief Medical Officer, Sankara Eye Hospital, highlighted the indispensable role of CSSD in clinical care, particularly in ophthalmology, where even minimal contamination can lead to severe complications.
