Sankranti Air Show, National Paramotoring Championship to be held in Mahabubnagar

Hyderabad: This Sankranti festival, witness and indulge in some adventure sports, including paramotors, skydiving, hot air balloons and RC drones at the Sankranti Air Show and National Paramotoring Championship 2021 in Mahabubnagar.
The event lasts for five days from January 13 and will be open from 6 am to 6 pm. The event will commence with the National Paramotoring Championship 2021 and then proceeds towards Sankranti Air Show, Tourism Minister V. Srinivas Goud said here on Monday.
Aerosport is relatively a new form of youth activity. However, Telangana Tourism had organized a couple of major events earlier that is Telangana Formation Day & Bathukamma in Hyderabad, he said.
Now, for the first time in the State, a national level championship, ‘Sankranti Air Show and National Paramotoring Championship 2021’ is being organized by the Department of Telangana Tourism at the mini stadium adjacent to the mini Tank Bund in Mahabubnagar, the Minister said.
20 professional pilots who had represented India at the world Paramotoring Championship, Thailand will be participating in the national championship.
This event brings together the excitement of cultural and adventure activities encompassing aerosports.
Entry is free and visitors can enjoy rides at a price of Rs 1500 for 10-minute para- motoring activity and Rs.500 for a Hot Air Balloon joy ride. They will be accompanied and guided by expert teams from takeoff to safe-landing. Adventure sport enthusiasts, aviation lovers, students, and youth can experience the spirit of para-motoring as a sport, the Minister said.
“We had planned the event at Parade Grounds but considering different factors permission was denied. Hence, Mahabubnagar was finalised,” Srinivas Goud added.
