Hyderabad: In a confidence-booster meeting, State Sports Authority Chairman Allipuram Venkateswara Reddy met Japan-bound Telangana gymnast Kumari Buddha Aruna Reddy at the War Heroes Memorial Stadium in Ambala, Haryana on Monday.
Aruna Reddy, who is leaving for Japan on October 12, is part of the six-member Indian team that will compete in the Artistic Gymnastics event, which starts on October 18.
Reddy congratulated Aruna, who has been recovering from a major injury. This is the first big tournament after the injury. Incidentally, Aruna had created history in 2018 Gymnastic World Cup when she became the first Indian to win a bronze medal women’s individual vault event.
