Fresh notices issued by the Special Deputy Collector for land acquisition along the proposed elevated corridor from Gymkhana Grounds to Shamirpet ORR have caused confusion among property owners. The notices sought extensive personal and property details for a socio-economic survey to compute compensation.
Hyderabad: Fresh notices served by the special deputy collector, Hyderabad, to property owners regarding land acquisition for the elevated corridor from Gymkhana Grounds to Shamirpet ORR in Secunderabad Cantonment on State Highway-1 (Rajiv Rahadari) sparked confusion.
In the notices, the revenue authorities urged property owners to submit details including family members, gender, marital status, educational qualification, Aadhaar details, property tax receipt, number of kitchens (permanent or temporary), and agricultural lands, if any, in a prescribed proforma with photocopies as part of a socio-economic survey. The survey was intended for the computation of compensation amounts for affected landowners.
Owners of properties that will be affected from Secunderabad Club to the Shamirpet area received the notices in a phased manner from Hyderabad Collectorate and Medchal-Malkajgiri Collectorate.
Members of the Joint Action Committee Rajiv Rahadari Property Owners, who are fighting against the state government’s decision to acquire land to build the elevated corridor, said the state government was allegedly threatening and harassing Rajiv Rahadari property owners by regularly issuing notices seeking property and personal details and bank account information, even though the matter was currently sub judice and the High Court granted status quo orders directing that no work related to the elevated corridor or road-widening project be undertaken until further orders.
The state government’s decision to issue notices caused distress to affected property owners. “Due to repeated notices and continued pressure from the Collectorate, several property owners are facing mental stress,” said JAC Chairman Telukunta Satish Gupta.
The JAC also urged all Rajiv Rahadari property owners not to share their property, personal and bank details with any government authorities until further orders from the Court.
