Kothagudem: The SCCL trade unions across Telangana have staged protests on Wednesday against the BJP government at the Centre, which brought four labour codes in place of 29 labour laws.

Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS)  chief general secretary Kapu Krishna, AITUC leader Vanga Venkat, INTUC vice-president Thyagarajan and CITU leader Raja Rao along with others took out a rally to the district collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the administrative officer.

In the evening the leaders staged a dharna at SCCL head office and GM office in Kothagudem. Speaking on the occasion they alleged that the BJP government was disregarding the rights of the workers by adopting the four labour codes.

Krishna said all the Singareni labour unions were opposing the Central Government’s decision to repeal 29 labour laws, which he termed illegal. They demanded that the new labour codes should be repealed and the 29 laws should continue.

He said that the trade unions would not accept the implementation of four labour codes under any circumstances and the unions would continue their fight until the labour codes were repealed. Trade union leaders Kusana Veerabhadram, Gadapa Rajaiah, Kishtapar Mallikarjun, Razak, Vijayagiri Srinivas and others participated in the protest.
