Hyderabad: With warnings of heavy rain in several eastern States due to cyclone Gulab, the South Central Railways has decided to divert or reschedule a few trains running on the route.

To ensure the safety of the passengers, train number 02703 (Howrah to Secunderabad) and train number 08645 (Howrah to Secunderabad), scheduled for September 26, have been diverted via route Kharagpur -TATA -Jharsuguda–Bilaspur-Balharsha. Five other trains-train number 02245 (Howrah to Yesvantpur), 02609 (Santragachi to Tirupati), 02543 (Howrah to Chennai Central), 02663 (Howrah to Tirupati) and 05488 (Agartala to Bengaluru Cantt) — have been rerouted via the same route. Train number 08189 (TATA to Ernakulam) has been diverted via TATA- Jharsuguda – Bilaspur – Balharshah route.


The SCR rescheduled three trains commencing journey on September 26. Train number 07480 (Puri to Tirupathi) has been rescheduled by 11 hours. Train 02873 (Howrah to Yesvantpur) has been rescheduled at 1 am on September 27 instead of 11 pm on September 26; similarly, train 02867 (Howrah to Puducherry) which was scheduled at 11.30 pm on September 26, will now leave at 1.30 am on September 27.
