Secunderabad Cantonment Board approves Rs 317.78 crore budget for 2026-27

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board has approved a Rs 317.78 crore budget for the 2026-27 financial year. Allocations include funds for water supply, sanitation, medical services, property tax administration and service charges paid by the Ministry of Defence.

Hyderabad: Members of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) unanimously approved a budget of Rs 317.78 crore for the financial year 2026-27 at a Board meeting held on Wednesday in Secunderabad Cantonment. The meeting was chaired by President Cantonment Board (PCB) Brigadier S Rajeev.

SCB Chief Executive Officer Arvind Kumar Dwivedi briefed the media at the Cantonment on the approved budget. He said Rs 43.41 crore was allocated under the tax component for property tax, water charges, trade licences and other revenue sources. Under the non-tax component, Rs 47.05 crore was allocated for conservancy and reflected as transfer of property tax (TPT) charges.


The SCB also approved Rs 53.32 crore towards service charges paid by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to the Board as compensation for property tax on defence lands and buildings.

For water supply and its network, the SCB allocated Rs 5.52 crore. It also allocated Rs 7.90 crore for conservancy (sanitation) and Rs 84.70 lakh for medical services at the SCB’s Cantonment Hospital in Bollarum.

An SCB official said the Board also approved Rs 310.32 crore as operating expenses (OE) for the financial year 2027-28.
