Hyderabad: Anticipating more protests from the Telangana Special Police personnel, security around important offices of the State government has been beefed up on Monday
The protesting constables are demanding that the State government launch reforms and implement ‘Ek Police Policy’ that will bring uniformity in the police force.
In the last few days, widespread protests were held in the city and elsewhere in the State by the TGSP personnel at battalion headquarters and on streets by the family members of the policemen.
The police department had dismissed 10 TGSP personnel who were allegedly instigating and provoking the policemen to resort to agitation. Another 39 policemen of TGSP were placed under suspension last week.
In anticipation of more protest the additional forces were deployed at Telangana Secretariat, Telangana DGP office and the Chief Minister’s Residence.
