Senior Assistant held in Adilabad for Rs 2 lakh bribe

A senior assistant at the Bazarhathnoor mandal revenue office in Adilabad was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from an applicant seeking land registration.

Adilabad: A senior assistant working with the Bazarhathnoor mandal revenue office was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from an applicant to process a file regarding registration of a plot of land on Friday.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) DSP Madhu said the senior assistant Vidyasagar Reddy was apprehended when he was caught receiving the bribe from an applicant to process the file for higher officials. He was allegedly harassing the applicant to pay the bribe. The applicant in turn approached the ACB, who laid a trap and nabbed him.


Further investigation is underway.
