Telangana is preparing to revise land registration values by up to 30 per cent, potentially increasing costs for homebuyers. The move, driven by revenue concerns, will impact residential, commercial and agricultural properties across key districts including Hyderabad’s growth corridors.

Former Minister T Harish Rao has accused Congress leaders and senior officials of large-scale irregularities in the Bhu Bharati portal, alleging that middlemen pocketed 90 percent of land registration fees. The Chief Justice said that the “present scheme of the government does not follow the thresholds of security as required under the Information and Technology Rules, 2011”.

“With this exercise, about 1.45 lakh crore acres of land in the State now have clear titles. This was not an easy task but one which we had to take up,” he said.
