Mancherial: A senior assistant working with the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate died on the spot, while a constable sustained minor injuries when the two-wheeler they were riding on crashed into a tree near Indaram village in Jaipur mandal late on Wednesday night.
According to police, Jadav Surya Kumar (30) sustained fatal injuries after his motorcycle rammed into a tree while he attempted to avoid a collision with a wild animal that jumped across the road. The incident occurred around 10 pm. Constable Pilli Venkatesh, who was pillion riding, sustained minor injuries in the mishap.
A native of Sevadasnagar in Utnoor mandal, Surya Kumar was residing in Mandamarri and was returning home from Ramagundam at the time of the mishap.
His funeral will be held at his native place on Thursday evening. Based on a complaint received from the wife of the assistant, a case was registered.
