Bunadigani canal breached at Padamatisomaram village in Bibinagar mandal on Thursday morning
Yadadri-Bhongir: Several irrigation tanks were overflowing in Yadadri-Bhongir district following the incessant rains in the last two days.
Baswapur Cheruvu in Thurkapally mandal, Gandamalla Cheruvu in Rajapet mandal and Veerla Cheruvu in Athmakur (M) mandal were overflowing with heavy inflows of flood water from feeder channels. All the streams in the district are in full flow affecting road connectivity between several villages.
Bunadigani canal breached at Padamatisomaram village in Bibinagar mandal on Thursday morning. The officials swung into action and took up repair works immediately.
With Musi water flowing over several culverts in several places, road connectivity was disrupted to some villages in the district. Road connectivity between Boodhan Pochampally and Bibinagar was disrupted as Musi water was overflowing over a culvert at Rudhravelli in Bibinagar mandal. District Collector Pamela Sathpathy inspected the culvert at Rudhravelli and instructed the officials to monitor the situation from time to time.
In view of continuous rain throughout the district, two control rooms have been set up in the district for continuous monitoring of breaches to tanks, canals and roads due to rain. A control room with toll free number 1950 was set up in the District Collectorate and another control room in District Irrigation Office with phone number: 08685-245009.
Staff at the two control rooms would work in coordination and alert the mandal level offices based on complaints they receive.
