Adilabad: In-charge Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra said SHE Team system was strengthened by applying modern technology.

Speaking after inaugurating the SHE Team office here on Wednesday, Rajesh said that two teams were formed to ensure better protection of women in the district. He stated that the teams were operating accounts social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Gmail to receive complaints from victims. He added that a QR code scanning system was being implemented at schools, railway stations, hospitals and shopping complexes.


The IPS officer stated that women could lodge a complaint by scanned codes using their mobile phones. He said that members of the SHE team would move in public spaces posing as civilians and carrying secret cameras. He assured that the identity of informants and victims would not be disclosed. The office was created to strengthen the system of the teams, he explained.

The in-charge SP said that the teams were striving for not only offering relief to victims of sexual harassment and, but also to those who need legal aid, medical support and rehabilitation. He informed that Additional SP, who leads the teams, was studying the menaces and was supervising the activities. The teams won the trust of the public in a short span of time.

Additional SPs S Srinivas Rao, Samay John Rao, B Vinod Kumar, DSPs Venkateshwar Rao, Uday Reddy, SHE team in-charge officers E Sunitha and A Uttam, Special Branch Inspector Mallesh, Task Force Inspector E Chandramouli, Inspectors S Ramakrishna P Srinivas, Ram Narasimha Reddy, G Venu, District Police Officers Association President Penchala Venkateshwarlu, vice president SK Tazuddin and many others were present.
