Sigachi accident toll rises to 40 as another injured worker succumbs
The Sigachi Chloro Chemicals blast toll rose to 40 after Mun Mun Chowdary, a critically injured worker, died during treatment. Twenty-two injured persons are still in hospitals, while nine remain untraced. Two unidentified bodies remain in the Patancheru mortuary

Sangareddy: One more person, who sustained serious burn injuries in the Sigachi Industries Limited accident on June 30, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.
The deceased was Mun Mun Chowdary (51), who had been undergoing treatment at Dhruva Hospital in Patancheru. Officials made arrangements to send his body to his native place after conducting the autopsy.
With Chowdary’s death, the toll in the Sigachi blast has risen to 40.
According to officials, 22 persons who were injured in the explosion are still undergoing treatment at various hospitals. Another 12, who were admitted immediately after the accident, have since recovered and been discharged.
Meanwhile, nine persons remain untraced following the incident. Two unidentified bodies are still kept in the mortuary at the government hospital in Patancheru.
