Sigachi blast: Death toll rises to 39, five bodies unidentified, nine still untraceable

The blood samples from affected 14 families and the mutilated body parts recovered from the blast site were sent to Central Forensic Science Lab (CFSL) for DNA testing.

Sangareddy: One person, who sustained serious burn injuries in the Sigachi blast, succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The death of Bhim Rao of Maharashtra raised the death toll to 39.

Five bodies kept in the mortuary of the government hospital in Patancheru remain unidentified while nine workers, who were working at the time of the blast, were not traced yet.

The blood samples from affected 14 families and the mutilated body parts recovered from the blast site were sent to Central Forensic Science Lab (CFSL) for DNA testing.

The officials said that they will probably identify all of them once the DNA reports are received. They were expecting to get the reports by Friday night.

Meanwhile, 23 persons were undergoing treatment in different hospitals while 12 others were discharged after they were recovered.
