Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N Balram has ordered the production and transportation of 2.5 lakh tonnes of coal per day to ensure adequate supply of coal to the thermal power plants under contract with Singareni.

Balram, who held a review meeting with general managers of all the coal areas through virtual mode on Tuesday, asked them to tighten their belts and work towards achieving the target. “Every minute is valuable in the remaining 120 days of this financial year. All areas should work together to achieve the production target. Everyone should work for 8 hours as per the rules and strict action should be taken if discipline is not followed,”he said.

The CMD asked the senior officials to ensure that machines were used for at least 18-hours a day. He also asked the officials concerned to take steps to start production in the new projects at VK open cast coal mines in Kothagudem and Rompedu Open Cast in Yellandu in the next three months.
