Peddapalli: Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Singareni Collieries Company Limited, D Krishna Bhaskar, on Wednesday said the company had fallen slightly behind in achieving its monthly production targets this year, stressing the need to meet prescribed targets while giving top priority to quality.
He said that until the end of the current financial year, efforts should be made on a daily basis to achieve at least 2.20 lakh tonnes of coal production, 2.40 lakh tonnes of coal transportation along with removing 15.5 lakh cubic metres of overburden.
Directing General Managers of all areas to take all necessary measures towards this goal, the CMD reviewed coal production, transportation, quality and related issues during a video conference with Directors and General Managers at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Bhaskar said that in the present coal market, consumers accept only coal that meets the required quality standards. He underlined that instead of focusing merely on quantity, strong measures must be taken to improve coal quality.
The future of the organisation depends on every officer and employee working diligently towards this objective, he said.
General Managers of various areas briefed the CMD on the ongoing production activities in their respective areas.
