Singareni exceeds coal dispatch target, new mines set for launch
Expressing satisfaction over the performance, SCCL Chairman appreciated the efforts of all teams in achieving the set targets. He instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted coal production from opencast mines during the ongoing monsoon season.
Peddapalli: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) achieved 100 percent of its coal dispatch target and 99 percent of its coal production target during the first quarter of the current financial year, from April to June.
Against the coal dispatch target of 16 million tonnes, SCCL achieved 16.6 million tonnes, recording 103 percent achievement. Coal production stood at 15.99 million tonnes, registering 99 percent achievement against the target of 16 million tonnes.
SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram reviewed the quarterly performance with Directors and General Managers of all operational areas at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Expressing satisfaction over the performance, Balram appreciated the efforts of all teams in achieving the set targets. He instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted coal production from opencast mines during the ongoing monsoon season.
To meet July’s targets, he directed the company to dispatch 2.15 lakh tonnes of coal per day and produce 1.8 lakh tonnes daily.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the VK Opencast mine in Kothagudem, for which all approvals have been secured, should be held by the end of this month, he said.
Balram also asked officials to expedite the process of obtaining environmental and forest clearances for the Illandu JK coal mine and Goleti coal mine.
