SIR: 3.4 lakh voter forms found uncollectible in erstwhile Adilabad

More than 3.4 lakh voter forms were classified as uncollectible in four erstwhile Adilabad districts during the Special Intensive Revision. Officials said the forms involved deceased, migrated, untraceable and duplicate electors, whose names will be deleted from electoral rolls

Adilabad: Forms of at least three lakh voters were found to be ‘uncollectible’ in erstwhile Adilabad district during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which concluded on Monday. The names of the electors will be deleted from electoral rolls.

Officials said Mancherial district, comprising Chennur, Bellampalli and Mancherial Assembly constituencies, has 6.61 lakh voters. Of them, forms of 5.46 lakh voters were digitized, while 1.15 lakh voters were classified as ‘uncollectible’. Nirmal district saw digitization of 6.42 lakh voters against the total of 7.55 lakh voters, reflecting 1.13 lakh ‘uncollectible’ forms of migrants, deceased persons, untraceable and duplicate electors, etc.


Similarly, 4.03 lakh forms were digitized in Adilabad district, which has Adilabad and Boath Assembly segments with 4.66 lakh voters. There were 63,207 uncollectible forms. Kumram Bheem Asifabad district has 4.55 lakh total electors. However, 4.07 lakh forms were digitized, leaving 48,160 forms being categorised as uncollectible. The four districts accounted for a total of 3.40 lakh uncollectible forms.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, consisting of Sirpur (T) and Asifabad Assembly constituencies, topped digitization of forms with 89 percent of documents, followed by Adilabad district, which registered 86 percent digitization of the forms. Nirmal, consisting of Nirmal, Khanapur and Mudhole segments, and Mancherial districts recorded 85 percent and 83 percent digitization of the forms.

Among 1.13 lakh uncollectible voters in Nirmal district, 26,864 voters died, 26,615 electors were untraceable, 41,765 voters permanently shifted to other places, and 17,926 voters enrolled their names in some other place. As many as 13,357 electors died in Adilabad district, while 30,401 voters permanently migrated, 18,092 electors were untraceable and 7,557 electors registered their votes.

In Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, 11,317 electors were found to be dead, while 23,803 voters migrated, 2,194 electors were untraceable and 10,458 voters enrolled their names in some other place.
