Six arrested for illegal transportation of 41 cattle in Asifabad

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Six persons were arrested on charges of illegally transporting 41 cattle at Sushmeer village on Saturday evening.

Police said the six cattle traders were transporting 10 oxen, 21 cows and 10 calves, which had been purchased in Maharashtra, without valid documents. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted raids at a place where the cattle were being kept.

The animals were shifted to a cowshed run by a voluntary organisation in Kagaznagar.

During interrogation, the six reportedly confessed to committing the offence to make a quick buck. They admitted to purchasing the cattle in Maharashtra at lower prices and were allegedly planning to sell them to a slaughterhouse in Jagtial.
