Six arrested for stripping, assaulting auto-rickshaw driver in Telangana’s Adilabad
The arrested confessed to committing the crime as per instructions of Shaik Saleem, who nursed a grudge against the driver Syed Zahir for moving closely with his daughter
Adilabad: An auto driver Syed Zahir was abducted, stripped and thrashed by a group of people who warned him not to continue his relationship with a woman in the district headquarters. The police arrested six persons in connection with the case on Friday, while three others were still at large.
Police said the arrested were Shaik Ejas, Shaik Sohail, Shaik Muzeeb, Hasibullah, Omar Chaosh and Syed Zubair and the absconding assailants were Shaik Saleem, Rahel and Saleem. The arrested confessed to committing the crime as per instructions of Shaik Saleem who nursed a grudge against the driver Syed Zahir for moving closely with his daughter.
They admitted to thrashing Zahir and threatening to kill him if he continued his relationship with Saleem’s daughter on March 26. The local DSP Jeevan Reddy said special teams were formed to nab Saleem and the two. A case was already registered against the nine. Investigations were taken up.
