Karimnagar: Karimnagar two town police registered a case against six persons for sexually assaulting a married woman on Sunday. Case was registered against Gundi Divya, her mother Kavitha, brothers Rajashekhar, Sridhar, Nithith and their friend Md Foroz.

Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana said Routhu Muralikrishna, a resident of Indiranagar of Karimnagar town, was in love with the woman from Mulugu district headquarters, and married her in 2007. The couple was staying at Mankammathota area of Karimangar town along with their two children.


Hiding his first marriage, Muralikrishna married his sister-in-law Gundi Divya in the presence of relatives in 2017. Later, he started harassing Divya for additional dowry. Based on Divya’s complaint, a dowry harassment case was also registered against Muralikrishna.

Later, Divya started enquiring about Muralikrishna and found details about his first marriage. On Sunday morning, Divya along with her mother Kavitha, brothers Rajashekhar, Sridhar, Nithith and their friend Md Foroz went to the house of Muralikrishna in Mankammathota.

Shocked after seeing Muralikrishna along with first wife and children, they thrashed him besides assaulting Mamatha. Based on the complaint by Mamatha, two town police registered the case against six persons.
