Six children forced into begging at a fair rescued in Asifabad
Six children who were forced into begging at a temple fair near Kagaznagar were rescued during inspections by officials and volunteers. The children and their parents were counselled, and authorities warned of legal action against those encouraging child begging

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Six children who were forced into begging at a fair at the ancient Sri Shivamallanna Swamy Devasthanam near Easgaon village in Kagaznagar were rescued on Sunday.
District Child Protection Officer Boorla Mahesh, in a statement, said that six children who were dressed as Mahatma Gandhi and were forced into begging at the fair were rescued during inspections carried out with the help of members of the Child Helpline, police and Bharat Scouts and Guides at the fair. The children, along with their parents, were counselled and made aware of the importance of education.
Mahesh said that using children for begging or work was a violation of their fundamental rights. He warned that cases would be registered against parents and guardians who encourage children to beg under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Legal action would be taken against them.
Easgaon Sub-Inspector Kalyan, Bharat Scouts and Guides Komaram Bheem District Secretary V Shyam Rao, Scouts Master M Mallesh, Child Helpline Supervisor Jhansi, Case Worker Venkateshwarlu, National Cadet Corps volunteers and Child Welfare Department staff took part in the inspections.
