Hyderabad: Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST), Hyderabad, and Murata Electronics Singapore (Pte) Ltd, Singapore, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the Open Innovation Framework (OIF) and Social Innovation Concierge for Japan (SICJ) to develop and test Smart Micro Irrigation System (MIS).
The MoU was signed by SNIST principal, Dr TCh Siva Reddy and Murata General Manager, Haruo Mitsuhashi.
The Research Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) liaised the collaborative project between Murata and SNIST that involves building an ecosystem with help of other startup partners for testing the future agri-tech products for Indian farmers, a press release said. The project compares three different irrigation systems – surface, drip and drip+advance technologies (Smart Micro Irrigation System (MIS).
Murata’s Senior Manager Regional New Business Development, Venkatesan, RICH Director (Food-Agri) Bhubesh Kumar and SNIST Director Dr CV Tomy explained about the MoU.
