SR University celebrates 24th Annual Sports Day with international athlete Nandini Agasara
SR University celebrated its 24th Annual Sports Day 2026 with students from all departments participating. International athlete Nandini Agasara addressed the event, highlighting the importance of discipline, practice, and determination in sports, while officials encouraged students to maintain fitness and leadership qualities.
Warangal: SR University celebrated the 24th Annual Sports Day-2026 at the university campus here on Wednesday with enthusiastic participation from students across various departments.
The university’s department of physical education organised the event. The SRU Chancellor, A Varada Reddy addressing the students, encouraged them to actively participate in sports along with academics and maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
International athlete Nandini Agasara, gold medalist at the 26th Asian Athletics Championship, attended the event and addressed the students she emphasised that discipline, continuous practice and determination were essential to achieve success in sports.
She advised students to set clear goals and work hard to achieve them, adding that participation in sports during student life helps develop physical fitness, confidence, leadership qualities and mental strength.
Nandini Agasara was felicitated by the Chancellor Varada Reddy and Vice Chancellor Deepak Garg. The university Pro Vice Chancellor V Mahesh, registrar PV Ramana Rao and Dean (Student Welfare) AVV Sudhakar were present. The event was coordinated by Director of Physical Education and the University Sports Council secretary Sreenivas Pulluri.
