Kothagudem: The tussle among the staff at Kothagudem excise police station and the station Circle Inspector (CI) seems to be unending as the staff boycotted duties on Tuesday demanding the transfer of the CI, Jayashree.

The staff had earlier revolted against the CI accusing her of harassing them and a female constable K Akhila even attempted suicide a week ago stating that she was unable to bear the CI’s harassment.

After Akhila’s family members staged a dharna at the excise office last Monday demanding action against the CI and protests by the staff, senior officials held a meeting with the staff assuring them of shifting the CI to another station.

After that, the CI stayed away from the station for some time and turned up on Tuesday at the office. Her presence in the office triggered unrest among the staff and 11 of the 14 staff members at the station reportedly boycotted their duties.

The protesting staff asserted that they would not attend to the duties at the station if the CI worked at the station. The staff complained that the higher officials who assured them of transferring the CI failed to keep their word.
