Stage set for final phase of gram panchayat polls in erstwhile Karimnagar
The final phase of Gram Panchayat elections in the erstwhile Karimnagar district will be held on Wednesday, with polling scheduled from 7 am to 1 pm. Authorities have deployed additional police forces, imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS, and arranged webcasting and CCTV monitoring at sensitive stations.

Karimnagar: The stage is set for the final, third phase of gram panchayat elections in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.
Election authorities have made elaborate arrangements for polling, which will commence at 7 am on Wednesday and continue till 1 pm. In addition to imposing prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS, additional police force has been deployed at sensitive polling stations.
Arrangements for webcasting have been made at selected polling stations, while CCTV cameras have been installed in sensitive areas to closely monitor the voting process.
As three gram panchayats were declared unanimous, elections will be held for 108 gram panchayats and 850 wards in Ellandakunta, Huzurabad, Jammikunta, Veenavanka and V Saidapur mandals of Karimnagar district.
While 454 aspirants are contesting for sarpanch posts, 2,421 candidates are in the fray for ward member positions. As many as 1,65,046 electors are expected to cast their votes. A total of 1,034 polling stations have been established.
In Rajanna-Sircilla district, elections will be held for 80 gram panchayats and 551 wards in Gambhiraopet, Mustabad and Veernapalli mandals.
While 379 aspirants are contesting for sarpanch posts, 1,526 candidates are in the fray for ward member posts. As many as 1,27,920 voters are expected to exercise their franchise. Besides 914 presiding officers, 1,244 other polling officers (OPOs) have been deployed to conduct polling.
Polling will also be held for 85 gram panchayats and 636 wards in Peddapalli, Eliged, Sultanabad and Odela mandals of Peddapalli
district.
Elections will be conducted for gram panchayats and ward members in Pegadapalli, Endapalli and Gollapalli mandals of Jagtial district.
