Union Minister For Culture, Tourism And Development Of North Eastern Region G Kishan Reddy launched a ‘Make in India’ product of bipolar air disinfectant and purifier in Hyderabad on Sunday. He said that more such trendy devices should be manufactured. Hyderabad-based Jaitra Devices & Systems LLP launched its new system ‘Bipolar Air Disinfectant & Purifier’ in the country. The device can inactivate pathogens like SARS-COV-2 (Covid-19), Norovirus, Influenza, Legionella virus, Rhinovirus, Varicella zoster virus, TB bacteria, Staphylococcus bacteria, E Coli bacteria, Pseudomonas bacteria, Bacillus cereus bacteria, fungi, and molds. It is the first-ever ‘Make in India’ product to adopt the Bipolar lonisation technology, which works against harmful microbes by starting a chemical reaction on the cell membrane surface of the viruses and bacteria making them dead.

India’s tribal culture came to life as the second edition of the National Tribal Dance Festival was inaugurated at the Science College Ground, Raipur, by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. An initiative of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board under the tourism development plans of the State government, the inaugural day witnessed participation of tribal dance groups from various States and Union Territories of India and international participation from Nigeria, Palestine, Kingdom of Eswatini, Uzbekistan and Mali portraying and celebrating their respective tribal folk culture. Tribal dance forms from various States showcased the vibrant and diverse culture of India. Competing for a reward of Rs 5, 3, and 2 lakh, the participating tribal groups exhibited the best of the culture through dance performances.

‘Hunar Haat’ is a handicrafts exhibition that aims at providing market exposure and employment opportunities to artisans and craftsmen from minority communities. Over 5.60 lakh artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts among others have been provided with employment opportunities through the initiative. Around 500 artisans and craftsmen from across the country are displaying their indigenous products made of wood, brass, bamboo, glass, cloth, paper and clay at ‘Hunar Haat’ in Dehradun. The event also saw the felicitation of the family members of freedom fighters. About 500 artisans and craftsmen from more than 30 States and union territories have brought their indigenous products to the exhibition. This is the 30th Hunar Haat in the series being organised across India under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

A railway museum was inaugurated in Bhubaneswar to showcase the rich heritage of the East Coast Railway. The Kalinga Rail Heritage Museum was inaugurated by ECoR General Manager Vidya Bhushan on Saturday. Efforts have been made to preserve the long and vibrant history of the railways, along with the rich heritage of the ECoR. The aim includes preserving the old railway equipment and boosting tourism. Old equipment, instruments, technology devices and models have been preserved in this museum through an impressive display of artefacts, models and photographs. In the indoor section, various documents, old manuals, railway maps, equipment and photographs from the early days of the railways have been put on display. Various documentaries, postage stamps and logos have also been displayed.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday inaugurated a State-level programme of distribution of free homeopathic preventive tablets to all school children as a precautionary measure against Covid-19 as all schools will be reopening from November 1. Vijayan said the homeopathic medicines are proven and effective. The decision on the tablets was first discussed between Education Minister V Sivankutty and Health Minister Veena George and they decided to go ahead with it. The tablets will be made available through special kiosks and dispensaries. It has been decided that in the initial weeks of the opening of schools that there will be no uniform and attendance will not be compulsory for school students.
