Stray dog attack leaves 25 injured in Vemulawada temple town
A stray dog attack in Vemulawada town, Rajanna-Sircilla district, left around 25 people injured, including devotees visiting the temple. The victims were admitted to the local Area Hospital.
Rajanna-Sircilla: Around 25 persons, including devotees, were injured in a stray dog attack in Vemulawada town on Tuesday.
The dog went on a rampage across various localities in the temple town, attacking residents and visitors alike. Devotees who had come to offer prayers were among those injured in the incident. All the injured were shifted to the Vemulawada Area Hospital for treatment.
On learning about the incident, municipal chairman Pulkam Raju, vice-chairman Narala Shekhar and 22nd ward councillor Eppapula Mamatha visited the hospital and spoke with the injured.
Raju said steps were being taken to control the stray dog menace and added that 40 dogs had been shifted to an Animal Birth Control centre a fortnight ago.
