A one-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a stray dog while playing outside his home in Venkatraopet village, Pinapaka mandal. The incident raises fresh concerns over stray dog menace in rural Telangana.

A 40-year-old construction worker died in a road accident at Tukkuguda in Hyderabad's Maheshwaram area on Saturday night.

According to reports, the canine had been on a rampage since Saturday morning and was trapped late in the evening. Most of the children were attacked in Gole Bungalow and surrounding colonies

On Friday, the Commissioner inspected the Fatullaguda animal sanctuary, dog-catching vehicles, the operation theatre, and the pet dog crematorium. He discussed daily targets with veterinary officers, asking about the number of dogs caught and sterilizations completed each day. Ilambarithi emphasized that field-level officials should review progress daily and work toward capturing and sterilizing more dogs.

A group of dogs attacked the boy while he was playing in front of his house. His mother, Sirisha, had asked him to fetch a milk packet from a nearby shop. As Revanth was on his way to the shop, the dogs pounced on him, causing severe injuries. Reports indicate that he sustained injuries to his eyelids, hands, and head.

On Sunday, a group of children, hailing from various colonies under Kompally municipality, did just that by visiting Petbasheerabad police station to lodge a complaint against Kompally municipal officials for miserably failing to control the menace of stray dogs in the localities.

The dog, which came from Jammikunta, attacked the people on the way, was later killed by municipal workers. 

The stray dog in question had attacked about 14 persons including Chigurumamidi Tahsildhar on June 14.

Nirmal district headquarters hospital resident officer Dr Venugopalakrishna said eight persons from the two localities received minor injuries when the stray dogs attacked them.

The parents of the child, who work at a factory, left their five month-old son at home and went to work.

The youngster has sustained multiple injuries on head, face and hands. The boy is the son of the watchman of the Srinidhi Nilayam apartments.

The committee will undertake a study to comprehend the reasons behind the dog attacks and also act like a nodal body for all the stray dog-related issues in the city.

The incident took place on Sunday and the case was registered on Monday on the complaint of a local resident, Vijay Kumar Upadhyay, who used to feed the strays in the colony.

The minor identified as Tarannum, daughter of one Abid Ali and a Class 4 student, along with other children was grazing goats when the stray dogs attacked her. She received over two dozen severe injuries all over her body, including her head.

In both incidents, the drivers tried to avoid hitting dog.
