Hyderabad: Stating that the education sector in the State is plagued with issues, various student organisations have called for a State-wide bandh of schools and colleges on Wednesday.
Student organisations, including SFI, AISF and PDSU, demanded that the State government immediately appoint a minister for the Education department, and also called for a law to regulate fees in private and corporate educational institutions.
Apart from filling up vacant posts of teachers, MEOs, DEOs, lecturers and principals, the student bodies also demanded construction of permanent buildings for welfare residential schools and hostels currently functioning out of rented buildings.
Other demands include the repeal of NEP 2020, passing a resolution in the Assembly against its implementation, release of pending scholarships, fee reimbursement, mess and cosmetic charges.
