Mancherial: A Class IX student, who went missing from a Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Residential School in Chennur on Thursday, was traced on Friday. MJPR officials said Durgam Harsha neither attended classes nor was present at the hostel since Thursday. They said a complaint was lodged with the police. Teams were formed to trace the student. The police and officials managed to trace Harsha at his uncle’s residence, bringing relief to his parents.
However, parents expressed concern over students going missing from government-run residential schools at regular intervals. They urged officials to take steps to prevent such incidents in future. They also requested the officials to step up surveillance and security at the schools to prevent students from leaving the educational institutions without permission.
