Students clash during Palestine march at EFLU, case registered
A clash broke out between two student groups during a Palestine Solidarity March at EFLU, Tarnaka, prompting Osmania University police to intervene and register a case. Police have detained several students and are investigating the incident under relevant sections of the BNS.

Hyderabad: The Osmania University police registered a case against two groups of students following a clash during the ‘Palestine Solidarity March’, taken out at English and Foreign Languages University at Tarnaka on Tuesday night.
According to the police, at around 10 pm, two groups of students were raising slogans that were causing a disturbance on the EFLU campus. While one group was raising slogans in support of Palestine and India’s neutral stand on the ongoing issue in Palestine. The other group was raising slogans in support of India.
“Both groups were shouting slogans and waving flags. The police tried to calm them down but for over one hour they continued to create nuisance. Additional forces were mobilised and managed to defuse the situation,” said Osmania University police.
The police who tried to control the situation were also manhandled. During the scuffle, a sub inspector lost his wrist watch and stars that adorn his uniform.
The police registered a case under Sections 132, 196, 221 r/w 190 of BNS and are investigating. The police detained a few persons in connection with the case.
