Students continue protest over tree felling at PJTAU campus
Students of PJTSAU staged a fresh protest on Sunday over the razing of trees across 20 acres of campus land. They accused the State government of harming the ecosystem and demanded an immediate stop to further tree clearance by officials.

Hyderabad: The students of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University continued their protest at the college to condemn the razing down of trees on a vast area of land parcel on Saturday night.
After a round of protests on Saturday night at the Botanical Gardens in Agriculture College forcing the authorities to stop the work, on Sunday students met the university officials and registered their protest again.
To prevent any trouble the police were deployed on the university campus. The students who were on their way to meet the officials were stopped at the vice chancellor gates.
According to reports, the trees on 20 acres of land were removed overnight by officials of different government agencies under police protection on Saturday night.
Around midnight, the gates of the hostels were locked, and police were posted outside to prevent the students from coming outside and hindering the work.
The students argued that the State government is determined to damage the ecosystem and demanded an immediate halt to the works.
